Phu Nhuan District Advances Digital Transformation with 2024 Digital Economy Forum

 On July 11, 2024, the People’s Committee of Phu Nhuan District held the 2024 Digital Economy Forum, a strategic event emphasizing the critical role of digital transformation in administrative reform and public service delivery. The forum attracted over 270 participants, including Thien Tu Company, IT firms, local businesses, and entrepreneurs. 

This initiative highlights the district's commitment to fostering a technology-driven economy and improving service efficiency through innovative digital applications.

Session One included a strategic cooperation signing ceremony between the Phu Nhuan District People’s Committee and Viettel Group. The partnership focuses on research and implementation of digital platforms and infrastructure to enhance social well-being and support the development of the digital economy.

Session Two was a meeting between district leaders and local businesses to exchange insights and explore future directions for digital economic growth. The session aimed to create tangible, effective, and collaborative solutions for supporting digital transformation among enterprises.

In his opening remarks, Vice Chairman Do Dang Ai highlighted the district’s leadership in digital initiatives. He praised achievements by local officials and residents, while also urging deeper, more unified efforts:

“Although our digital transformation has progressed quickly, it still lacks depth. We need collective action from local businesses and entrepreneurs to fully embrace this opportunity and grow our digital economy.”

He emphasized that digital transformation and Offshore BPO adoption are now essential strategies for increasing business competitiveness and attracting investment.

Mr. Nguyen Dong Tung, Chairman of the Phu Nhuan District People’s Committee, acknowledged the challenges in the digital transformation journey, including incomplete digital infrastructure, a shortage of digital skills among the population, rapidly changing technology, lack of professional consulting, cybersecurity risks, and the need for significant investment capital.

Despite these challenges, he emphasized:

“This forum is the starting point. It reflects our long-term dedication to integrating digital transformation with administrative reform. Reform must reduce costs and boost transparency, while digital solutions should deliver meaningful change.
